When it comes to specialist furniture fit-outs, we quite like to think that we know our stuff. From fitting out recording studios to kitchens – it’s the day job, but it doesn’t make it any less exciting for us. One of our favourite tasks is within the hospitality industry – fitting out hotel rooms.
Whilst fitting out a hotel room with brand new furnishings sounds like it could be a lot of fun, there are a few things you need to consider before going ahead with it. These include: how to make best use of the space available, what is the most comfortable option, what looks the best and let’s not forget about those health and safety measures that you need to think about!

With this in mind the furniture you put in there is absolutely crucial to the entire feel of the room – basically you don’t want to have an item that’s so bulky you feel trapped. Rooms should be open, with minimal but practical furniture.

Furniture in hotel rooms should be of the highest comfort – people usually go to hotels to relax and retreat, or even if you’re visiting for business related reasons – you’re still going to want to have somewhere inviting to head back to after a long day of conferences.

Nowadays there are so many regulations in terms of healthy and safety and your furniture choices have to reflect those rules as does the way in which your furniture is fitted. It needs to be installed safely, to comply with certain laws. If you don’t abide by these not only will your business suffer, but your lodger will not feel at ease.
