April 12, 2019Apteriors welcomes new Business Administrator

In November 2018, our team got a little bigger, with the addition of Delilah Moses, our Business Administrator.
Recently, we sat down with Delilah to talk a little about her background, how she’s finding the work so far and her ambitions for the future.
WELCOME TO THE TEAM, DELILAH! LET’S START WITH YOUR BACKGROUND. WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
My brother, sister and I grew up in Dulwich in South London, though our family is originally from the beautiful island of Grenada in the Caribbean, where I’ve had the pleasure of working for several months in a past life. I studied Events Management at Bournemouth University and after an opportunity to work abroad, here I am.
ABROAD? SOUNDS EXCITING, TELL US MORE.
Yes, I was lucky enough to work as an Events Assistant for an NGO called GoodSports in South Africa for 10 months. It was an exciting and fulfilling opportunity organising events to help raise money and awareness for children in in schools around Cape Town. Ultimately, we provided funding and sports equipment to allow the pupils to take part in activities they couldn’t have before.
WOW, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY. TELL US, HOW DID YOU GET FROM GOODSPORTS TO APTERIORS?
I had originally applied for a role at K10, a London wide constructions skills apprenticeship network, but they thought I’d be better suited for an opening here at Apteriors. I think they were absolutely right. My background in organising events has proven a great strength in the office.
HOW SO?
A large part of my role is supporting the team in the practicalities of their every day jobs, making sure tasks happen when and how they should, allowing the rest of the team to focus on the creative aspects of their roles. I feel my past roles have given me a sound basis for what the team need from me here. Though of course, I continue to push myself further, just like the rest of the company does.
WHAT WAS IT THAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE COMPANY?
To be honest, I liked that the company as a separate entity was fairly new, but with such a wealth of experience behind it thanks to a previous life as part of Reds10. It’s an exciting time for the team and the company and I’m looking forward to being part of its growth.
AND HOW’S IT ALL GOING SO FAR?
It’s going great. The team have really taken me under their wing, but I’ve also been given my own space to shine. I enjoy the responsibility as well as the learning curve. There’s definitely lots more to learn yet!
