FARLEY HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

Wokingham

PROJECT DETAILS

Farley Hill Primary School is a brand new facility, funded as part of key developments in four major new communities at Arborfield, Shinfield and North and South Wokingham, which included investment of £98m in new schools.

The 420-place school, which has both the infrastructure and planning permission in place to expand to 630 if required in later years, contains generous classrooms, specialist areas for design and food technology, PE and dance, and provides the latest digital teaching tools such as interactive teaching screens and sound systems. The site also includes a nursery and community facilities, such as a 3G all-weather sports pitch, for use outside of school hours.

The 2,500m2 school was built via offsite construction, with units up to 70% complete upon arrival to site. A decision made as part of the council’s drive to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Apteriors’ specialist education space design team worked with the client and the wider project team to translate their vision for the purpose-built school into a space that is not only visually striking, but also fit for purpose, marrying design and function flawlessly. All in time for the 2021/22 school year to begin.

Our team delivered not only internal space fit out, but also several external spaces, including Infants, Foundation and Juniors playgrounds.

KEY BENEFIT
