Commercial kitchen floors take a lot of wear. With a large number of staff working in a small space, and Front of House staff dashing in and out, slip proof floors are paramount in maintaining safety standards. Kitchen floors also see a lot of food prep debris. They should therefore be easily cleaned as floors must be swept and mopped to a certain standard at the end of each service.
Appliances need to be wipe-down in order to meet with hygiene requirements. Stainless steel throughout is a popular choice for commercial kitchen appliances as well as countertops because of its practicality.
The best suppliers will offer stainless steel to cover both appliances and surfaces. Steel uprights can prevent food debris from falling off the back of a surface and custom manufacturers can add bespoke touches to wherever you need an extra sheet or upright. These sorts of surfaces are easily sanitised with a food hygiene coating.
Since different food products and equipment need to be stored in different ways, a range of storage is necessary in a commercial kitchen. Shelving that can withstand the environment it is being used in is essential – whether it’s in the middle of the hot ovens or in the walk-in freezer, good quality kitchen storage will be heat and moisture resistant.
