Apteriors were proud to collaborate on the FF&E design & installation for Bloxham Grove Academy – a purpose-built free school built by Galliford Try, designed to support young people aged 7–18 with cognitive, learning, social, emotional and autistic spectrum needs.

Working in partnership with Galliford Try, with the Gallery Trust and the Department for Education, our design and specification approach placed the user experience at the centre of every decision. Opened in January 2024, the Academy offers a calm, considered learning environment tailored to the unique needs of its students and staff.
From the outset, we worked closely with stakeholders including parents, SEN specialists, and educators to ensure every FF&E element – from soft seating and storage to specialist sensory furniture – was carefully selected to enhance learning and well-being. The design supports communication, comfort, and routine and inclusive spatial layouts promoting independence and confidence.
Value
Bloxham Grove Academy has since been recognised for its outstanding delivery and inclusive ethos, winning awards from Constructing Excellence South East and achieving top marks from the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The project also generated over £800,000 in Social and Local Economic Value (SLEV), underscoring the wider impact of thoughtful design.
Apteriors’ involvement reflects our commitment to environments that empower every learner – and our passion for designing spaces that truly make a difference.

We are proud of this project at the Bloxham Grove Academy which serves as evidence of Apteriors’ creative, collaborative and efficient design capabilities, allowing efficient delivery of creative environments where both pupils and staff feel safe, supported, and empowered.
