Apteriors like to remain traditional in our approach to customer service so that there is a clear line of communication and expectations. However, we do like to get ahead of the curve with our technical abilities, allowing us to work accurately and efficiently.
Apteriors incorporates Building Information Technology (BIM) to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the design and construction phases. Additionally, we follow the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) stages to ensure a comprehensive and systematic approach to their design process. These stages provide a framework for managing the design and construction of a building project from inception to completion.
Here’s an overview of how Apteriors utilises RIBA stages and BIM to further enhance their technical capabilities:
Apteriors works closely with the client to understand their requirements, objectives, and project constraints. They conduct feasibility studies, assess the site, and define the project’s key parameters. BIM tools can be used to create a 3D digital model of the existing building/site, enabling the team to analyse and evaluate design the FF&E options efficiently.
Based on the project brief, Apteriors generates various concept interior design options. BIM tools aid in creating real life visualisations of the furniture and virtual walkthroughs, enabling clients to understand the spatial arrangement, proportions, and overall aesthetic of the proposed FF&E design. The BIM process also allows for clash detection and coordination with other disciplines, such as architects and engineers, using software such as Navisworks, minimising conflicts and improving design integration.
During this stage, Apteriors refines the chosen concept interior design with the client, developing it into a more detailed and coordinated proposal. Our BIM models are enriched with additional information, such as detailed furniture layouts, lighting plans, and material specifications. Our system’s parametric capabilities help automate changes across the design, ensuring consistency and accuracy, most importantly keeping in line with the project budget.
At this stage, Apteriors produces detailed technical drawings, specifications, and cost schedules. Our enhanced software enables the creation of comprehensive construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. The interior model serves as a central repository for design information, allowing for efficient coordination with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
During the construction phase, Apteriors uses BIM for project management and coordination. The finished model serves as a platform for clash detection, quantity takeoffs, and construction sequencing. It facilitates communication and collaboration among the project team, streamlining the construction process.
In the final stage, Apteriors create as-built models, capturing the accurate representation of the constructed space. This information can be handed over to the client for facility management and maintenance purposes.
By integrating the RIBA stages into our design process and leveraging Building Information Technology (BIM), Apteriors offer an enhances service, including design quality, coordination, and collaboration, resulting in efficient project delivery and overall client satisfaction.
